Elementary Choral Specialist

Ashley Forrest

Ashley Forrest is an elementary general music teacher and choral specialist in Fairfax County. She has worked at Great Falls Elementary since 2020, and has doubled their choral program in her time there. Since joining Great Falls, Mrs. Forrest has been a positive influence in continuing choral education beyond elementary school in her community. Many of her students are active participants in community choirs, musical theatre, and Fairfax County’s All-County Chorus.

Mrs. Forrest received her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education from James Madison University with a focus in the piano area. She has accompanied many singers throughout her time in school, as well as the Willard Intermediate School Chorus in 2019.

In addition to her work in the choral world, Mrs. Forrest has spent many years working with the percussion sections of various marching bands. Most notably, she has been with the John Champe High School Marching Knights in Loudoun County since 2020 as the front ensemble director and co-founder of the award winning John Champe Indoor Drumline.

Mrs. Forrest is grateful to be able to blend together her experiences in the choral, accompanying, and band worlds to create a unique approach to each group. She currently resides in Ashburn, VA with her husband, Brendan, where they love to spend time with friends, try local eats, and cheer on the Washington Capitals!
